Since April I’ve been building Mesh, a personal tool that helps me keep my network together and stay in touch with the people who matter to me.
Mesh reads my Gmail, my Google Calendar and WhatsApp. It knows when I last spoke to someone, what we talked about and what is still open between us. But whenever I wanted to answer an email or check a meeting, I had to leave Mesh and switch to another app.
So I built a mail and calendar client into Mesh itself, for now on my Mac.

The inbox has views for mail from people in my network and for threads where someone is waiting on me. When I hover over a name, a small card shows what Mesh knows about that person, when we last spoke and what’s due. If someone isn’t in Mesh yet, I can add them right there.
The calendar works the same way. Opening a meeting shows which attendees I already know, the open follow-ups with them and the notes from our last meetings.

Today is the first day I’m using it for real. Over the years I’ve tried pretty much every mail client out there and always ended up back in Apple Mail. Let’s see if this one is the first to replace it.
New pieces go out by mail first.
