Make Something Wonderful

The clip is from October 2007, a few months after the original iPhone launched.

During that meeting, an employee asks how Apple will keep its brand and culture as it grows.

His answer: *“There’s lots of ways to be as a person, and some people express their deep appreciation for their species in different ways.

But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there.

And you never meet the people, you never shake their hands, you never hear their story or tell yours. But somehow, in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something is transmitted there.”*

This is probably what drove him throughout his life.

And I never thought about it, but I think I’ve felt it ever since I bought my first Apple product 30 years ago.

PS: I didn’t know this was the reason the Steve Jobs Archive named their book “Make Something Wonderful” when they released it two years ago. Definitely worth a read!
