Why I love to work internationally.

I flew to Chicago early in August and joined Real Madrid on their US Tour.

One thing I always loved about my job back in the days at Eastpak and Dickies was that it was an “international job.” In the morning, I interacted with people in Japan and China, and in the afternoon and evening, with people in the US. And within a few years, I saw a lot between Seoul and Los Angeles.

But the best part is meeting people from other countries. In Germany, we sometimes focus too much on our own country.

So, when I left my last job a few years ago, one goal was to finally be able to work internationally again. This was one of my main focuses. On one hand, it just makes me happy to deal with people from all over. It gives me new perspectives all the time.

On the other hand, I think it is important for any business to work internationally. Too many people I know focus on their home market—but what do you do if your home market is in economic trouble? So, I’d rather stand on different feet, even if I am a tiny company.

I had a few great days in Chicago, and it was good to feel some American positivity again. I met a lot of new and inspiring people and was able to grow my network—all by “doing business.” Could be worse 😉.
